Now the competition has attracted up to ten thousands contestants from across regions of Vietnam. Our mission remains the same: to generate an interest in mathematics, to enrich mathematical exposure for young generation of Vietnam so that they can have a better future.
The first round of VMTS offers short answer questions only, on a wide range of topics. Each grade has its own set of fifteen questions which take place over 75 minutes. The second round requires contestants to solve five more challenging problems, giving full justification for their answers.
The questions that are used in the competition are meant to be fun and engaging to pupils and teachers as well to complement their math curriculum and hone learner’s problem solving skill.
